Being briefed against for gain,
Allowing the inevitable fest,
Agreement from detractors all the same,
Harsh words meant not entirely in jest,
Putting up with the rhyme and the reason,
Dished out from all of those up above,
Crying out, this has to be treason?
Forever, falling in and out of true love,
Chosen or looked over, worshipped by the few,
Win or lose most sober, mass approval made anew,
Backers melt detractors, blaming a need most narrow,
Friends and benefactors, backstabbers, untrusting, most shallow,
The straw poll seals the fate,
Of the ability to make much better,
Draw the bridge up, shut the gate,
Clip the wings of this real go-getter.
