broken hearts roam the streets tonight
looking for a place to hide
trying to find a way to smile
so they drink and smoke
just to lose their mind
broken hearts and a bottle of wine
are in search of love tonight
they are looking to disguise the pain
to play pretend and laugh at the game
they don’t want to keep playing the players game
broken hearts and a cigar
are seeking for hope tonight
because they are tired of the same rhythm
‘cause life feels like hell
they want to live again
broken hearts roam the streets tonight
looking for a place to hide
trying to find a way to smile
so they drink and smoke
just to lose their mind
broken hearts and a bottle of wine
broken hearts, a cigar, and a match
wondering the streets tonight
lost searching for the conquer of life
looking for love, a hug, and a smile

Lyrical, the repetition gives it a rhythm, reminds me of a few old songs I know.
Thank you. This started as a song but later on, I changed it to a poem but I think it works with both.
The repetition is really nice here, like it’s tonight, but it’s been every night this week. I like that you echoed those lines for emphasis, especially towards the end. Also I like that the lines aren’t quite coupled so neatly, because that’s exactly the theme here. I definitely like everything about it all in all, well done!
Thank you. I truly appreciate the compliment.
