Eternal Dawn

I wasn’t designed to be worshiped

Not immune to being blamed

I was born, like you

To carry the torch

& then be buried with the unnamed

I wasn’t designed to look better

Than any of shining knights around

I wasn’t born, like them

To rest with the damned

& follow the false hopes of the drowned

Now imagine something different

Someone more likely to fail

Living as if life is all a never ending trail

Imagine a heart barely beating

& eyes so hungry to see

Imagine fall in human form & then you’ll see me

Waiting for a stronger tide

A greater day

A faster lane

I read the sky, I saw the sign

No beauty this time

Only pain

Waiting for this dawn to end

I’ve never seen heaven unfold

I cannot feel the breath of fire

The kiss of ice

‘fore I grow old

’cause I wasn’t made to be followed

Through confusion already planned

I only know that here I found

My own way to live & understand

the sounds that no one ever hears

The king’s nightmares

Or joker’s tears

I’m here to feel, not lift the spell

That holds as one heaven & hell

But I wasn’t made to live forever

& yet, that’s where I came to be

The fields of life after the fall

That’s where once more you’ll see me

Eternally I awake

But I can’t open my eyes

I’ve never seen, until you came

The lights that come after sunrise

That right there did it for me! The whole poem is amazing! This is one of your best and a poem I could read again and again! Amazing!

  3. Really love the choice of words here! The way you describe life and death is both enigmatic and cathartic at the same time. Reminds me a bit of the song “Earthborn Evolution” by Beyond Creation.

  4. enigmatic and cathartic? i don’t think i need better than that xD thank you
