We feed the robots that plunder our thoughts
The circle never ends
Like a revolution of zero shots
The silence now descends
There’s nothing behind the curtain
No schemes, no conspiracies
There’s nothing behind the consumerist shrine
Just the image of a self-made god
Rejecting release
In a hall of erased history, the politics of decline
We are the rooms that trap us
The shining shrouds that wrap us
We’re the Machine itself, fed by lust & war
We’re the screens that hypnotize
The enemy we neutralize
We’re the cube that traps us forevermore
A sad bunch of lives based on a quote
A stupid line in a popular book
putting trust in logic of others’ vote
To regain all dreams that so violently they took
This world we’ve turned to ruins,
It’s the way that we create
For the lost ones, a minute of silence
& two minutes of hate
But is there anything more than
blindness in your stare
The noise of the underground,
A mutiny on the square
There was life behind the windows
There was once a different time
Heroism had its meaning
So did justice. So did crime
There was once a voice kept within
threatening to break outside
Free speech colliding with silence
A rebellion with no guide
Endless pleasure is what brought us
to play God, close to the verge
Selfish triumph, faceless passion
No mind strong to fight the urge
& we fed the world with blinding dreams
The madness in our stare
When the path beyond is lost
there’s just the road to Neverwhere

yes…
The way we create, turning things into ruins – unfortunately, this is true on many occasions. There’s a lot of thought gone into this poems and a lot for the reader to take in, in a really good way.
if you watched the movie “Cube”, a lot of things could be clearer.. however, it wasn’t the only inspiration for this, & I’m sure the reader can find a lot of meaning in it.. thank you 🙂
So very true Nebojsa! Yet people still wonder why nihilism is so common among people. Life lost its meaning long ago. Great write!
thanks man 🙂 glad you stopped by
So many great verses, I had a hard time picking my favorite.
But, then I read this;
“There was life behind the windows
There was once a different time
Heroism had its meaning
So did justice. So did crime”
So much truth in these lines!
This whole poem It’s great.. .but this. 🔥🔥
lol it’s weird that the first time you’re picking my least favorite lines.. not that I dont like them, tho, but I kinda had some doubts about that part.. tastes differ.. thanks for the continued support bro (:
