Epic   Fantasy   Friend   Funny   Love   Main   Nature   Other   Sorrow

Sentient NPCs

In a simulated space

of futures gone as planned

against the howling winds

that herald seasons of the damned

tracing the void of your words

on a journey through cities of glass,

spaceships of affection

to end up breathing life

from just a night on the grass

a step, a few away

& then once more we begin

A walk of rediscovery

For how long were we lost within?

look there, down the hall!

where faded visions float

like series of unfinished sentences

always hitting the right note

or that tune from up the stairs

is it fear whose echoes fade?

in glow of truthful moments

faithfully portrayed

are we really lost?

Just staring

at the shapes on the ceiling

If there’s nothing outside

In lies the world we could be revealing

Given to indifference

Moved by our will

Our search for meaning

Together alone

In a phantom time

Who’d tell us that we’re just dreaming?

N.B.

To Faith, with love

  1. ” Who would tell us we’re only dreaming?”
Sometimes I don’t want to know the answer. Nice write.

  2. I caught the same line as Rob.

    Sometimes love is a labyrinth,
where we not only lose track
of time.. but also of ourselves.

We fall so deeply that we forget
that there’s life outside of the
    company that we’ve engulfed
ourselves in, ‘n the world that
    continues to prosper around us.

    That’s my deep dive.. 😂😂😂

    Great piece, my friend!

    • woah you weren’t supposed to write a comment thats better than the poem itself, but okay, i accept it xD

Just the kind of thing that fits the mood i was in when i wrote it.. thanks bro

  3. While I believe that this piece, altogether, is superb, the third stanza stood out to me. I’m not sure how you come up with content like this. Greatness defined in your penmanship, my friend. What a write.

    • I sort of returned to the mood where I constantly think in verses or short phrases that fit in a poem so I guess that’s it.. not a good recipe for sanity, but definitely good for poetry.. thanks for the support brother 🙂
