Flirting with the Enemy

Can it be taught, to feather your nest?
Or take credit for ideas not your own,
Necessity, so clueless, announcement in jest,
Straight faced until cover is blown,

Seek approval, or apologise, for stealing ideas,
Tweaked enough, to sow small seeds of doubt,
For its tough at the top, to sate all those peers,
Mischievous words, delivered with clout,

Still reference the author, feigning good grace,
With the petulance of youth on your side,
Like a savage dictator, assured of your place,
All will be forgotten in time,

Now skulk in the darkness, secret meeting of minds,
Spun as full co-operation with others,
Forensically espousing a crossing of the aisles,
Then back to the benches of brothers.
