Which is the greater weapon?
Sticks and stones may break your bones.
Sometimes they might even kill you.
But words……
Words they live on and on.
Indeed they’re what you most remember.
Bullets and knives, these can take a life.
Certainly they have ended many.
But words…..
Words echo through the ages.
Indeed they resonate forever.
A poetic rhyme
A cinematic line
They can lighten
They can darken
Sentences of confusion
Battles and bombs
These define the war
Words spark the fire
Words form the conclusion
Vows in June
Cries to the moon
Pay a compliment
Lob a criticism
Form of communication
Irony and sarcasm
So cruel, so clever
Weapons may kill
Words spell out damnation
Yes sticks and stones can break your bones.
But words…..
Words can altar the course of history.
Words…..and words alone.

And unfortunately, both words read and words heard can be misinterpreted. That’s when major upsets can occur. Good write, a nice clear message here,
Thanks Eli. Was thinking about the Bible in whole and especially the verse in Luke, “Heaven and Earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
“Words spark the fire” yes, words can build or kill,
the power is in the words like the bible says.
Thanks for reading, and for picking up on that.
🙂 take care!
