Pieces of Moment

As we lay here in the summer grass, you turn your head to look at me, a question playing on your rosy lips. I ask you what it is, that inquiry that rests just behind your curious diamond eyes. What you ask then, I will not forget. You ask me simply, in this sprawling universe, what we are. I look up at the sky for a moment, thinking. Thinking that we are the snowflakes that fell that day in winter, and stood out against the black of your hair as I kissed you. We are the stars that hung over us and danced in your eyes that night last June as we held hands in your backyard. We are the sunshine that falls through the leaves and speckles the trees in our favorite place in the woods behind my house. We are the little things that we remember, the pieces of moment that make a memory, the tiny bits of a universe that we create. But I don’t tell you this. I tell you simply, that we are in love.

  1. love the introspection of your feelings and short verbal answer.
I often do the same and mostly elaborate in writing 🌿
