Pale

All of your envies

All of the jealousies

All of your “Me, Me, Me’s!”

They pale in comparison

So,

Here’s another cause to be heard

Here’s another voice that cries out

Here’s another direction to explore

 

Here’s another light that goes on

Here’s another moment of truth

Here’s another A-ha moment

Yet,

They pale in comparison

All of your remonstrations

All of the demonstrations

All of your infinite frustrations

They pale in comparison

So,

There’s more wringing of the hands

There’s more meeting of the minds

There’s more group therapy sessions

 

There’s more fortunes to be won

There’s more fortunes to be lost

There’s more praise to be gained

Yet,

They pale in comparison

So bring

Sympathy for the leper

Mercy for the desperate thief

Bread for the hungry orphan

A prayer for the dying

Because,

All of your time in the rain

All of the loss and gain

All of your conscience stain

They pale in comparison

Cleansing for the leper

Pardon for the thief

Hope for the orphan

Glory for the dying

Regrets?

Disrespect?

All of that introspect,

Really?
