The lonely road

A lonely road whispers

Dark and desolate

Forsaken

Cloaked in shadow like the hollow stream of my tears

Remnants of a past life roam

Motes of old lingering in the silent gloom

Vestigial rays of hope clinging to the ghosts of dead memories

straining

fighting

trying

Relentless in their futile attempt

to once again unfold the living seeds of light

The spark of joy

Of life

But on this dark forgotten road

All hints of life

Do die

To fade away with no goodbye

This lonely road I walk alone

Fated to reap all that ive sown

The stream of tears she shed at night

The piercing cold that grips my plight

O’ lonely road, do guide my way

To lovely meadows, that I may rest

For I am tired, for long ive journeyed

A once strong pulse, on final breath

You must walk on

Your fate is set

This lonely road your only nest

For one must reap what one has sown

Your own hands wrote

this lonely road

  1. “You must walk on

    Your own hands wrote

    this lonely road”

So dope! I really like this.

  2. Liked this as well, and that ending. I don’t know the title and the first few lines brought to mind Robert Frost for me.
