In this beautiful place,
So happy and sweet,
Trees grow with candy glass.
There are clouds spun of sugar,
That rain lemon drops,
Upon the sweet-sour grass.
There are rivers that run,
With strawberry sauce,
And bubble with sweet soda pop,
The trees dangle over,
The peppermint roads,
That catch the caramel apples they drop.
A wonderful place,
Spectacular world,
But tread carefully now, you see,
For the chocolate is toxic,
The apples are poisoned,
And the sugar is laced with cyanide.

Liked this, made me envision Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and psychedelic lyrics.
haha can’t say that’s what I was going for, but I’ll take it.
good anchor at the end. this took me from a sort of beatles place to social comment. poetry should take sharp turns like that
thank you! the ending was supposed to be a bit of a sudden snap to reality
