LOOKING BACK

The earth has turned upside down,

Buried in darkness,

And the poles, displaced.

The moon has lost its inertia.

And cyclones, ripping ancient gravestones

Population growth shifted to zombification.

There’s no pity for the living

People are fighting to see the sun

But I’m doing the opposite

I’m looking back.

I want to enter into the fault plane

And calm the seismic waves

I want to break into the secured perimeter

And cull the unwanted memories

I want to drive past the dead end

And cross the shoal waters

I want to get to the place

Where there will be no last man to talk about.

  1. Enjoyed the thought behind this piece.

“I want to break into the secured perimeter

    And cull the unwanted memories”

This line was relatable, for me. For different reasons. Nicely penned, my friend!

  2. Good imagery this piece gave me and like how this is presented. Well done!

  3. more and more good poetry on the site? I’ll take that..

it’s strong, descriptive, & it feels natural.. not much more to say.. it’s awesome!
