Anarchicon

The bells announce one final act

Cacophony of muffled cries,

of centuries long breathless wails

& freedom dropped from open skies

To reveal a funeral march

Whence the mourning shall join the departed

Their resting place never to be found again

A life never lived

Wasted. on a history uncharted

A mere drop in the Evermore, inglorious age of man

A future sacrificed

Not for our sins, but for their whims

Yet an end to endless misery

The war is over, no one wins

The tall man folds his bloodstained hands

Before a thundering applause

A cheer to light that’s never born

A praise of life that never was

A sleeping pill for the downtrodden

the Escape-land from painful truths;

but joy won’t walk this earth again

for vampires in elegant suits

  1. This flows like a river.

    “A future sacrificed
Not for our sins, but for their whims
Yet an end to endless misery
The war is over, no one wins”

How apropos, for the time we’re in.
Great piece, from beginning to end!

    • and that’s exactly where I got the inspiration for this… thanks for the support brother 🙂
