Ghost

What is a ghost?
A ghost is a tragedy condemned to repeat itself
throughout time, again and again.
An instant of pain, perhaps something dead
that still seems to be alive at times.
An emotion suspended in time
and impediment to what’s expressed
an impression frozen in drama
like a blurred photograph
like an insect trapped in amber
like a cloud of smoke that vanishes
in the light of dawn.
A Ghost-
that’s what you are!
