Happy Place

Breathe deeply.

For the air here is light,

Enriched.

The sun shining brightly overhead.

The warmth caressing your skin.

Bare feet on the cool summer blades.

Small rolling hills,

Butterflies at play.

A meadow.

A clearing.

A circle of bliss.

Yellow flowers,

Great and small.

Sweet and enthralling.

For as long as the mind can perceive.

Surrounding the meadow,

Splendid mountains.

Giants of the heavens.

Just overhead,

A faint whisper carried in the wind.

A faint perfume of,

Salt and water.

Clashing titans of waves,

Resounding from afar.

Sit here with tranquility,

For, I am sure.

This is a glimpse of heaven.

Or maybe at least,

A jovial place.

  1. I love poems that take the reader away. and yes, it is a glimpse of heaven. an excellent last line with a dash of humor

  2. It was a pleasure to be swept away in your delicate vision of an earthly heaven with wispy flashes of beauty , a charming style and an impressive metaphor .(“clashing titans of waves” ) Enjoyed.

    • Thank you so much! I really truly am warmed by your kind comment.
