Internal War

Confusion
Deranged delusions illustrate my fate
Shadowy burnt hands glide their brush and contemplate
Painting portraits of the snake that slowly slithers down my face

Try to erase I do
The truth
of my cynical tooth
I dream of blood & guts dripping from the scars on my boot

Yin & yang
A loving side so soft, kind, & tame
Always striving to spread joy
The other side so completely deranged

Hear the pain in his melody
His haunting tunes ignite my dreams
The skeletons in his closet
unleashing the stream of misery

Stop drop & scream
Embrace the blood on my sleeve
This mangled, bruised heart it longs for infinite peace

Cant you see what theyve done to me?
Their fiery tongues engulf my dreams

“Breath deep
Release
Serenity
Destroy the demons after thee
Cant YOU see?
There are two wolves fighting within the heart of every man”

Which one wins?

“The one you feed”

  1. Very powerful. I felt like until the last few stanzas your poem was open for interpretation but it came to sense with the title once I reached the metaphor of the two wolves. Skilful
