Nightfall Rain

Taking a walk alone

On a dark night

And it had started to rain

I tried to run

But my breath gave up

And had to stop

I sat down on the sidewalk

And just let the rain fall

My tears began to come

As I thought of you and I

I got up and ran some more

Until I came home

And got into my PJ’s

As I let my hot chocolate

Run cold

And wept until dawn
