I found a loaf milky and fruity, smelling of parfait
Took the bait, I ate and ate, then the floor commenced to deflate
A scaffolding with hanging white fur, upon frowns said, ‘You’re late!’
Sent me down a rabbit hole and there rested yet another scented plate.
A worm glowing and gluttony laid on top of the dish now empty
He blew blue smoke, tickled my nose, said he felt stuffed aplenty
He’d been served in a platter and so said I, ‘The rabbit sent me’
Then ate him whole, from his feet down to his antennae.
I encountered a dinner table, topped with desserts and tea kettles
Porcelain doll-sized cups filled to the brim, smelling of rose petals
A hatter bowed a hello, then threw the mouse holding a letter
With a bonkers mad expression, fell asleep on top the sugary-powdered ornamentals.
Was made to be suited in armor, orders from the queen’s threats
Ride her beast and hunt the cat that wore her crown and scratched her bed
I took her kingdom, alongside the town all creatures as well as I, overfed
Cleansed the thick blood red and down with the loudmouth head!
The sweets Mother called ‘pills’ to control the funny word in me called ‘malice’
Were matchless; now Mother is headless, now Mother is hatless
I’ve avenged my townspeople, thus I’ve earned my palace
One and all, this is Wonderland and I welcome you or my name wouldn’t be Alice.
