After a morning of rain
The grey skies didn’t depart
They were stale with a promise of more
We stayed inside hoping there was going
To be a glimmer of sunshine salvaging the day
As the day went on; the hope faded
O’ how I wished today was sunny and cooler
So, you and I could walk in the park
Smelling the scent of wildflowers in the breeze
And watch the children play with their joyous smiles
As though, the summer was endless
But the grey skies would haunt the day through
I guess we’ll take a walk tomorrow
Only if the sun come
