Having become the person I needed as a child,
A gentle hand where shadows ran wild.
No longer small, with trembling, fearful heart,
I mend the pieces, play a knowing part.
The whispered doubts, the tears that fell like rain,
Are met with strength, dispelling every pain.
I build a haven, where once there was a void,
With words of comfort, where I was destroyed.
The inner child, with eyes of warm, deep brown,
Now finds a guardian, steadfast and renown.
I offer solace, where there was only fear,
And whisper stories, that she longs to hear.
No longer waiting for a saving grace,
I find within myself, a peaceful space.
The love I craved, I now myself impart,
Having become the person, in my heart.
