Dear Leonard,
You ruined my life
I thought I could write like you
Though, I am told I do
Poetry is the worst art
To earn a living
You will die in poverty
But you would be famous
You would be quoted on a coffee mug
That are sold in a bookstore
On National Poetry Month
Then left in the clearance section
At seventy-five per cent off in July
I wanted to lift our art to be profitable
But as I am getting older
That dream is fading fast

Ah, the most misrepresented of the art forms but arguably the most intimate in very many ways! Is this Cohen, that is alluded to?
It is said that poets are a dime a dozen and even if that is so when one is given
the desire to create one must do so regardless of competition, fame
or financial profit. Keep writing as it is part of who you are. ❤️
