In a hallway echoing with footsteps, where glances pass like folded paperboats-unsent, unread, yet somehow understood.
When I see you walk into the room, everything else just fades, like a shadowed moon.
Not because you try to shine,
but because, unknowingly, you outshine everyone.
University life is full of noise – deadlines, exams, hostel laughter echoing at night. But you, you were the pause.
The pause between slides during my dull presentation.
The softness in the rain outside the lecture hall.
Moi dekhu tumak – not constantly,
but consistently, in seminar halls where our ideas floated free,
sometimes in the quiet corner of the library Where your concentration seemed to silence the world. Some days, I wondered –
Does she notice the glance I always edit
away?
There’s peace in watching you simply, be
not mine, not meant to be defined – just free.
Not every admiration is a question, and not all closeness needs confession.
Tumar sokut ase ek nirob govirota,
a kind of poise – rare, and deeply awake.
Not once have I planned to fall for
someone,
but there you were – not demanding space,
just being you…
and somehow, in your simplicity, I found grace.
Mur hiyar kotha eku prokakh nai kora,
karon kisu bhabona xilpo hoy – not decisions, not drama.
Tumar nam likha nai mur kobitar protitu xharit,
but you’re always hidden in its quietest note.Moi kua nai, because what do you say When you’re not even sure what you want to hear in return?
Moi dekhu tumak – not to possess, but as a pilgrim looks upon a sacred place:
With reverence, not to enter, not to alter – only to honour.
If love is a language, then mine is a dialect of restraint – more sigh than song, more prayer than pursuit.
You’ve become the metaphor in poems I don’t title. The still lake reflecting verses I dare not speak aloud.Moi kua nai, karon kisu bhabona bhal lage nijor bhitorot lukai thakile. Not every star must fall to be wished upon.
Some just stay, where they are – eternal, untouchable, enough.
I don’t write this as a question.
nor as a hope.
I write it because something within me Wanted to honour the beauty of simply knowing you – even from afar.
