It’s hard to believe
50 billions years since the big bang.
I here, you there,
meeting on that Wednesday afternoon
in the sweltering heat on June 28th.
So many lives, so many dreams,
so many lovers, so many passing,
so many tears never to dry,
so manty hearts always filled with love,
all a matter of chance from whom we meet.
So let me lie here in your breath
upon the refuge of your lips
where the mockingbird of change
from life’s shadow brings the light
to know the vision of a dream
within the morning of your eyes
where the pleasantry of time
waits the reflection of its touch
as into each we become,
a verse of you, a verse of me
falling in love on the thread of a look.
And what of them, yet to be born,
whom will they meet to share their lives,
to know of the universe billion years from now?
Remembering us, as we remember them,
falling in love on June 28th.
