I thought I was all that. If I wanted to get it I could.
I thought I was on top of the world. Everything I did was good.

 

So self-centered I am. Look at me, I’m da bomb!
I love all the attention. Love myself more than mom.

 

It’s okay to cheat. Hell, it’s okay to steal.
I do anything I want to. Anything I feel.

 

On top of the world, looking down at all you lowly peeps.
Laughing at the one who’s down. Ha! Better you than me!

 

Yes, I’m better than you all! Just look at how I flow.
You think otherwise? Well you know where you can go!

 

Don’t tell me about love. I had my heart torn in two.
Don’t love them, nor myself, and I certainly don’t love you!

 

But suddenly all came crashing down. Now I see the light.
My life is now in danger. Head-on collision! Am I alright?

 

Blood is everywhere. My eyes are dim. I cannot see!
What will happen now? No longer is it all about me.

 

If I could see my enemies now I’d say to them, “I forgive.
You guys are right to hate me. I don’t deserve to live.”

 

I can see my mother crying. “Oh mom, please be strong.
I feel life slipping away so hold me in your loving arms.”

 

“Sorry for the pain I caused you. Wish I could turn back time.
I love you my mother. Tell the family I’ll see them again in time.”

 

As I slowly die, I look up to heaven above.
I start to pray to the One who gave me all His love.

 

“My El, my El, I’m sorry! Please give me another chance.
What I did was wrong. I know my life is in your hands.”

 

“One last thing I beg of You while I die here in this street.
When returning to raise Your saints, please…please remember me.”
