Having seen all the monsters of our days,
troubled dreams & endless fears,
his pupils set ablaze
Wandering through the oceans of depictions
with his eyes shut
Lost in many personalities
& formed by everything he’s not
behind these eyes,
battles rage in painful sighs
The lone man in the poisoned rain
staring at the shattered skies
With pockets full of decisions
& a suitcase filled with pain
Left behind by others, or leaving them behind?
He leaves the train
& so the mechanisms crash
with a single step of his
„So long, brave new world, that I’ll never miss“
The only home he’s ever had
was the ground he walked on
Promising to feed its body
when his sacred walk is done
& although his unhallowed faith
does not urge him to pray
He smiles as he imagines others walking next to him that day
& although they’re not aware
that salvation lies in following a stranger
They still seek warily
the calming flames behind the eyes of the wayfarer

I’m always fascinated by your choice of words.
The way you depict situations is second to none.
I need to expand my vocabulary.
Another beaut, my friend!
thanks, man 🙂 I’m happy to hear that!
Oh yes, now this one I can certainly relate to. I’m all too familiar with those flames behind the eyes. Great poem Nebojsa!
sounds incredible.. thanks man 😀
“Salvation lies in following a stranger” No truer words have ever been spoken, Nebo the Magnificent. 👍Have you published your poetry book yet? You should! Your poems are always great! 😊 You’re the “God of writing” remember? 😉
that’ll take a while, ’cause I gotta piece it together, & I don’t wanna rush or force anything .. haven’t been writing until recently.. thank you for the support 🙂
oh & of course.. glad to see you here again 😀
It sounds like a fable about life. A lesson if I may, I like this style a lot and I think I’m about to read it a dozen times. Thanks for this piece Nebo
that’s exactly what I wanted it to be.. thanks so much man! 🙂
