To say that pain is a good instructor is an understatement.
I have wasted valuable time trying to avoid her,
yet she manages to finds me, and as I revel and hide from her,
I honestly have to say that my greatest lessons in life
have been learned under her strict tutelage.
If it wasn’t for her I would lack compassion, gratefulness,
spiritual growth, sensitivity for people and their sufferings,
nor would I be able to delight in the sweetness of a pain free,
silent moment of peace.
She sounds like quite the instructor. Thank you for sharing this. I look forward to reading more of your work 🙂
Thank you for your comment. I look forward to reading more of your work too.
Nothing like someone keeping you on your toes. Sometimes we need that push in life. A well written poem here.
Yes, like it or not, some painful lesson is always in store for our continual growth.
“nor would I be able to delight in the sweetness of a pain free,
silent moment of peace.”
My dad has always told me this as a little kid. You need to feel the pain, to be able to feel the good part that follows.
This is a great write!
Pain has taught me so much and continues to influence my fear, yet, poetry has been the only way for me to conquer it. I felt the realness of this message 👌🏾
I appreciate your comment and time. I agree poetry is a great outlet.
I Thanks you! 😁
