Wild Things Should Be Wild


I was walking to the truck
Then I caught a glimpse
There I was struck
At what I almost missed

There right beside me
Was a turtle on the shore
What I felt inside me
Was everything and more

As I picked the creature up
It felt smooth and salty moist
It sounded like a hiccup
As I released it, it rejoiced

Then a sudden realization
Wild things should be wild
I was on a vacation
And I learned a lovely style
