Today I got your ring, babe. So beautiful as could be.
So overjoyed I am, babe. You said you’ll marry me.

Can’t breathe without you, babe. It’s you who gives me life.
We’ll spend life together, babe. I’ll kiss and hold you tight.

I love you so much, babe. You know this much is true.
Each minute of each hour, babe. I’m thinking of only you.

That fateful night you left, babe. Didn’t know I’d face this sorrow.
We kiss each other goodnight, babe. I shall see you tomorrow.

Car stalled on the tracks, babe. Though they blew the horn.
The train hit you there, babe. Now I’m sad and all alone.

They said they found your ring, babe. You held on it so tight.
They showed me the ring, babe. Passed out from the very sight.

They buried you today, babe. I don’t know what to do.
Will never love another, babe. Not after loving you.

Can’t keep on living, babe. Can’t do this by myself.
I miss you so much, babe. So desperately need help.

I put a gun to my head, babe. My life is now through.
They buried me today, babe. They buried me next to you.

    • Thanks Lumiere. Was inspired by a song, “Teen angel” but I wanted to do my own twist at the end.

    • Thanks bro. Still amazes me that this poem had gotten the credit it did when I first created it.

  1. I remember this one, still fantastic! And now that I think about it, it reminds me a little bit of the song “Wherever You Are” by Stream of Passion!

  2. The Bard used a tad more words, and lo, we wince anew or howl, because Romeo and Juliet both lie coldly in the tomb.

    • Interesting take. Thank you for reading and commenting. Appreciate it!
