Here I am on the beach. It’s such a lovely day!
Sun is shinning bright. Kids laugh as they play.

But after crying all night. The sun is feeling cold.
This lovely day that’s new, suddenly feels kind of old.

You see, I’ve lost my babe. The one that gave me life.
The one I held so close to me. The one to be my wife.

I want that loving feeling back. Man, this isn’t right!
I want my baby back. I just want to hold her tight.

Let these tears fall. Let them fall like the rain.
Wash away the sorrow. Let them ease all the pain.

Because….

I felt the cold settle in as you left my side.
Felt my heart breaking. I was ready to die.

A lovers’ cross I hang. I saw you walk away.
Tried my best to keep you. Or is better this way?

But while you were gone I missed you more and more.
Stayed up day and night hoping you’ll knock at my door.

People say forget about it, but I’m still in love.
I wanted to so desperately to make it like it was.

I cried a river of tears. I saw you in my dreams.
Couldn’t get you out my mind. Always there it seemed.

One day while all alone. You had rang my phone.
The sweetest sound I heard, “Babe, I’m coming home.”

Oh so good to be alive! You’re back at my side.
I feel so light on my feet. I feel that I could fly.

The dreams we shared together. Lost but now found.
Telling you I love you. It’s all coming back to me now!

I cherish you. I love you. I just can’t say it enough.
You’re  back in my life giving me your magic touch.

How sweet your love is this second time around!
You jump in my arms. It’s coming back to me now!

  1. Oh nuts! Was I supposed to choose another play akin to this? I’ve been tripping in other pastures since and the answer evades my grasping hand. It’s neither Richard III nor King Lear, no. And Midsummer Night’s Dream–not at all. I’ll say I’m glad you didn’t “go” MGTOW and happily were restored your Baby. How’s that? Beautifully rendered in delightfully rhymed couplets. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Yay! I love stories with happy conclusions. So glad it ended this way.
