human

these days i am stranded
alone in the midst of many
i see their faces but they dont see me
either that or they dont care to look

why doesnt anybody understand that i am
HUMAN
why cant they all see i am weak
why am i alone arent we all
HUMAN
you see my face and send me back home
back to my lies
back to my parents
back to their lies
back to their ignorance
back to
EVERYTHING
I NEED TO GET AWAY
FROM— i need to get away

be alone, some other day
feel the sun upon my face
live in the sunshine and the rain
i will live for that day

ill swallow slime and refuse
then ill smile, keep up the ruse
pretend i dont want to puke
that my arm isnt bleeding too
that “mom, i really love you”
just pretend

GRIMACE THROUGH YOUR LIES
they see a grin, youll be fine
STICK A NEEDLE IN YOUR EYES
the tears, they say, are joyful
ALL THEY TELL is lies

oh the lies
i L I V E inside these lies
oh dear god the lies
theyll strip you to the bone
theyll rip out your throat
just run, just run, just go back home
oh god, oh god, ill die alone

why cant they see
that im h u m a n
that im so, so so weak
why cant anybody see that i am
b r e a k i n g
i cannot stand upon my feet
… and i feel so cold.

  1. what an exercise in raw naked truth. it helps to get it out. sometimes things begin to rot inside and it’s good to put it into the light so as better to see it. that’s what poetry does for me, both writing it and reading it. thanks for the read…you’re not alone.
