Varnishing wooden blocks for Charlotte to
play with safely gave an insight into what
might eventuate as she grows a bit more
Annabelle assured the tiny cart they came
in would be an avid attraction, but she’s a
sophisticated, bike-riding five year old
Charlotte is just nine months, I say, yet you
think she’ll like the cart more? I am sure of
it, Annabelle replies, cycling away
in brief visits and shower interrupted
conversation Annabelle appraised me of
the way it is with kids. Trust me, she says
The blocks are fine to pile or throw but a
cart gets you where you want to go, if you
know what I mean ; it’s really easy
I agreed. I can see why you might think like
that but would Charlotte be less a girl and
more a lady if she didn’t see it the same?
Annabelle’s little friend shook her head,
claimed too much expectation and not
enough choice made blocks a dull ploy
