Dew and Tears

Two drops alike I shall compare
As dew and tears strangely share
Significance if sought with heed
Enwrapped in frail glassy bead
Soft touching dew on verdant blades
For long the morning wake evades
As do the tears of anguish rest
When shed at foundered heart’s behest
And tears reveal, in metaphor,
The colours of the soul’s veil’d store
As dew in prismal splendour shows
The hues the shafts of light enclose
The dew reflects the floral lie
As tears for beauty also cry
With thoughts of that I end my claim
That dew and tears are just the same
