Stillness creeps in and out as a
delicate fear starts to dictate
like the loud rumble heard above the sky
so high
Drunkenness a healing power?
Or a temporary forgetting state?
A walking stick comes towards the hilltop
unsteadily
over the hill and down the hill it goes
as drunkenness leaves no void behind;
and emptiness is seen far beyond the eye line
with nothing but a large looming cavity
ready to tear away in pain.
And all that is heard:
is the dripping rain, as tears splatter
everywhere.
And the tides are high
flooding the streets beyond
despair a
sadness that vacates the eyes
of a lost girl
who doesn’t know where she went wrong.
Drunkenness a healing power?
Or a temporary forgetting state?
The feeling of incompetence,
the inarticulate emptiness of who she is;
where she belongs
is thrown amidst
empty space
as she wonders will the healing ever come? And
will the temporary forgetting state
disappear forever behind the
looking glass?
