For My Precious Love

What can be said when I hold the one I love,
What words in the language of men can express the feelings inside me,
The twisting, miasamic mess of hormones we call emotions,
Tugging and pulling every fibre of my being as love courses through my veins,
To stare into her eyes is to see eternity in but one lifetime,
All the stars in the heavens forsaken for the twinkle in her eye.

Running my fingers over her smiling face,
Tracing the lines of her beauty along the immaculate canvas of her skin,
Feeling as one would the bust of a Greek goddess,
Trying with our touch to conceive the perfection at hand,
As though sight could not be trusted with such an image alone,
All senses being used to make this dream a reality.

The soft warmth of her beckoning lips pressed against mine,
Our mouths silently speaking the true language of love into one another,
How tight I would hold her against me,
As though she might be snatched away from my arms,
Holding her to my chest so that my heart may whisper to hers,
Telling it the things my words could never say.

My fingers running slowly through her ebony hair,
The sweet smelling riches slipping through my fingers to rest upon her neck once more,
My gaze meeting hers with an infection of smiles,
Her sweet laugh as innocent and inviting as a nightingale’s call,
Inviting my mind to wander amongst the clouds with it as it flies,
Far away from the world to the skies where our love is endless.

How in awe I am of this woman,
This goddess,
This force of nature,
Birthing in my empty form a person of emotion,
One who has found his passion and drive,
One who can smile once more.

How can I ever repay her for her love anymore than I could repay the moon for its beautiful light,
She will be my heart for as long as I live,
Her life-giving love pumping through my veins,
Fueling the fires of my passions,
The ever burning flames that bare testament to the gift that has been given,
A shining light in a world that has lost its glow.
