I found God in the dawning of the day.
‘Good morning precious soul,’ I heard Him say.
I found God in the lonliness of despair.
His gentle hug, let me know He was there.
I found God in the face of a stranger.
I didn’t know Him, yet felt no danger.
I found God in the eyes of a child.
His gentle energy, so gentle and mild.
I found God in a grain of sand.
I felt safe ,when He held my hand.
I found God in the silence of my bed.
Three words He whispered, ‘I love you,’ He said.
I found God in the love from my mother.
Unconditional , and like no other.
I found God on the wings of a dove.
Soaring up high and sending His love.
I found God in the tears of the dying.
I couldn’t see their wings, yet knew they were flying.
I found God in the drug dealer’s stare.
I didn’t see Him, but knew He was there.
I found God in a homeless child’s face.
I couldn’t hold Him, but felt His embrace.
I found God in the darkness of night.
I couldn’t see Him ,’til He gave me sight.
I found God in my sleeping dreams.
I now know ,what the word ,’Love’, means.
