skimming across the snow
was a rabbit in full flight
from a hawk bent on
having him for dinner
that rabbit ran, , ducked
swerved and slid
the hawk, with ease
followed his every move
suddenly, the rabbit disappeared
a frustrated hawk
kept circling and looking
then with a piercing cry
he flew away
the rabbit came out
of a hole in the snow
with her babies behind
