Fools refuse to live,
turning away their heads
and closing their eyes
to love.
Fools believe it’s true
that if they let love in,
they condemn their souls
to die.
Lovers thirst for life,
embracing it’s best gift,
welcoming chances
to love.
Lovers know the truth –
if love is never found,
still they are condemned
to die.
Both lovers and fools
will one day leave this earth,
if love touches them
or not.
Certainty of death
is part of life for all,
and so it seems most wise
to love.
