Naked Trees

Sun shone threw in broken beams
Clouds dark, in endless streams
The trees are naked, leafless and bare
Children no longer come to play there
The swings creak, protest and groan
Frisbees and Balls are no longer thrown
Echos of joyous laughter rings
The wind whispers, howls and sings.
Families are long gone from here,
Driven away by dreaded fear.
The haunting hour calls and approaches
Nothing left now but dirty roaches
I remember a time so long ago
Where laughter, squeals and song would flow
This place is filled with memories
But all I see now, is naked trees.
