Our Lost Gift

The walls are closing in on my world
don’t know how much more I can take
it’s killing me softly
so am reaching out my hand
up into the promise land
for some glory in which to bathe.
My spirit aches
my soul belittled and shrewn
caught between
mangled strifes
of a secret not told
now you spake with scorn
in your own corner
you stayed and morn
morned the lost of
a gift so true
filled with life, purity
bliss.
Don’t blame me
wasn’t my fault
your feelings
now secured in a vault
and your painful cries
has become my burden
tarrying in a place
of guilt.
The wilderness
welcomes my soul
lost.
