As I through windy woodland go
The blossom petals start to fall,
The cherry boughs do drift like snow
And soon those flakes shall cover all.
The blossom petals start to fall
As I do catch one in my hand,
And soon those flakes shall cover all
Upon this wondrous April land.
As I do catch one in my hand
I know that it shall be a year,
Upon this wondrous April land
Before these blossoms reappear.
I know that it shall be a year
And that does seem too long to wait,
Before these blossoms reappear
I pray that spring shall not be late.
And that does seem too long to wait
The cherry boughs do drift like snow,
I pray the spring shall not be late
As I through windy woodland go.
