Teacher

So I taught her NOT to love me
It didn’t take
We managed to stay apart in body
But our spirits orbited each other
like a moody moon that may
give in to gravity or
lose its levity before
leaving for inward parts unknown
Realizing I was abandoning me
I thought hard about a reverse
course in miraculous turnarounds
reddening the field with my own blood
The ambiguities of life
sucking on my booted soul
like so much primordial mud
seeking with its inertial thoughts
to destroy singlemindedness
un-pluging all the ooze in me
to mix mana with blown blood
