Pale green walls close in,
around voices much too loud,
echoing hallways,
too crowded with emotion,
all screaming for attention.
Insanity rules –
people talking to voices,
unheard by others,
psychotic violence flares,
within surreal days and nights.
Staff shortage the norm,
chaos reigns throughout the floor,
until meds arrive,
then, over drugged, we fade,
into oblivious states.
Everyday life,
remains suspended in time,
as endless hours pass,
locked within a “crazy ward”.
This is supposed to heal me???
