My love, friends, and family tell me,
I have given my heart to so many.
And those many have broke my heart far to many times.
That i may not have much of one left to give.
I’ve been so stupid and naive back then.
So desperate to feel that feeling they call ‘love’
That I would listen to anyone and quickly give my body and heart,
I would give them my everything.
Asking only one thing in return.
to be loved.
Then there was you.
I remember I got mad at you,
You sat in my chair in history class.
As I approached with a glare you just smiled at me sweetly.
I sat next to you ready to tell you what was on my mind
Then I got a gentle “hello, how are you.”
i just smiled and stared forgetting everything i was going to say.
You always do that to me.
From that day on you were determined have me.
though you were different from all the rest.
You wanted me for a different reason…
You wanted to love me.
in a way, you already did.
I was so ready to give up on ‘love’
I’m blessed everyday I gave you a chance.
