When April Wakes The Dawn Shall Sing

When April wakes the dawn shall sing
A graceful chorus sweet and long,
On blossomed boughs the birds shall rest
And fill the air with joyful song.

And when this pathless wood’s adorned
With bluebells that shall ring for me,
Ten thousand peals unto my heart
The greatest sight a soul can see.

For here beneath the budding bowers
Their zestful shoots shall bloom and grow,
And daffodils shall cast their spell
Upon the field where colours flow.

When sun does shine a ray of light
The snow and ice shall start to clear,
The breeze will blow a warming breath
To fill the land with grateful cheer.

When April wakes the dawn shall sing
Each note will spell the winter’s end,
For spring shall rise from slumbers deep
As if a long departed friend.
