being nothing less important than
a wave of sand on a desert beach
i lay down my frowns,
of my laughter i strove to teach
but then becoming of no more importance than
god Himself
my smiles fell to the dirt
and my face carved itself
into a mountains’ side
where my laughter rested for a minute
that lasted forever.
and this is why i am so sad
