the sun gods daughter

bright, shiny and shimmering
she has her shadows too.
shrouded in silken silence
woven in tales of old .
she blushes a pretty pink at dawn.
melts to seething lava at noon
and
soothens to golden dust at dusk.
in the night she covers herself
with the brightest stars
woven in dark velvet
so many moods , so many hues
miles of sand and mighty dunes
so many stories in her fold
has this desert maiden
made of gold.
