Emotions are a necessity –
They remind us that we’re alive,
But sometimes they tend to betray us
In our struggle to simply survive;
A bit too sensitive, that would be me,
I can cry at the drop of a hat –
A sharp remark, or a nasty look
Brings tears, and I really hate that;
Why do I let people get to me?
Why can’t I be tough when it counts?
I just need to roll with the punches,
Shrug off my emotions and bounce;
I hate that I’m such a big softie,
My feelings get hurt all the time –
It’s so difficult being assertive……………
But it makes for some interesting rhyme!
