In The Arms Of Death

I feel the rapture contained in the edge of this knife,
It pierces my skin to relieve all my strife.

Pleasure and pain as life ebbs away,
In view came her face and she started to say.

“Greetings young traveller both weary and wise,
I’ve come to succor you as you meet your demise.”

She stroked on my hair and held her me to her cold chest,
Just like a mother with the child she loved best.

“Sleep now and rest, my beautiful child,
I’ll take you away from this world so gruesome and wild.”

Comforted then by the smile on her face,
I lay in surrender as my soul wandered from that place.

I’ll spend forever in after in her loving arms,
Trapped by the beauty of Death and her beguiling charms.
