Strands of cold and limp seaweed
slowly clog the gray matter
of my brain.
Pinkish, plump and writhing earth worms
embog sluggish expansion
of my lungs.
Leaden and langorous lashes
tediously tug the lids
of my eyes.
A total lack of enthusiasm,
absence of concern,
disregard for circumstance,
dearth of emotion –
pervades my stagnant being.
I simply don’t have the energy
to care.
