Dimness clouds awareness
Concealing groping eyes
From registering any truth
That’s been smothered by it
What a miserable attempt
To have guilt ridden conscious
And ageless instinct
Be consoled by lies
With pleading desperation
Pursued by a fear
Only to silently surrender
To conjured images
Lost in a dazed trance
And hypnotic rhythm
Can we ever awaken
From the solitary comforts
Of our minds?
